Board Game Arena

Hi,

During Season 0, we received some messages to ask if we could add some expansions for Carcassonne Arena Season 1.

Thus, we felt it was a good idea to add "The River" and "Inns & Cathedrals".

If we were wrong, there is no problem to change it as the season just began.

Here is a poll for your preferred expansions for this season. It will close on April 22th, and the Arena mode will be changed accordingly.

Important: In all case, Season 2 will be a "base game only" season.

season two still has the river though. I think this post is not really reching players anyway but most poeple are complaining.

Season 2 starts in next July, and no it won't have the River.

oh ok, thought this was season 2. i am sharing, but you could make a vote before each game if you wanted to know the opinion of people.

problem is that for most games, no one will actually care to vote. so someone could hijack a game with 0/small number of votes into a totally terrible format.

first I didnt like those expansions either. but now I have adapted to them and it runs nicely. would be very disappointing if you change the format in a running season - whatever you conclude out of your poll.
normally I am a hardcore "classic"-player as well, as I believe, as possibly a lot of advanced players, that there the luck-component is lower. and of course the classic / basic- thing is the common mode for most tournaments.
still I meanwhile would say: thank you, for getting me out of that box of playing always the same.
however, I would like to thank you for all the services and hard work you are contributing. you are doing a great job and putting a lot of thoughts into how to make gaming in here even more attractive. Not all decisions will be in everyones favor, that's natural. for me you are a great team and I really love this platform. thank you!

Interesting that traders and builders is not even an option
My personal opinion is actually that full expansions + strategic version is the least luck version of carcassonne

For one v one games I like the basic version best. The expansion versions are best for 3 or more players.
What should be on the list, however, is the strategic variant.

My thoughts exactly!

I think the best is 3 players and the rivers and cathedrals for the only expansions
