Unable to abandon game by iPad

I joined a game of Takenoko on my iPad but the interface was not recognising touch positions correctly on the table top. I apologised in chat and managed to select the menu and option to propose abandoning the game - one of the other two players accepted Yes - the other did not. But also I could not - no matter how I tried to press the Yes button it was not recognised as being pressed.
So I timed out and it also registered as a quit impacting my reputation. I assume if third player had said yes 2/3 it would have abandonned ok.
I hope this hasnt affected other 2 players - sorry.
I assume this might just be my really old ipad ios version 9.3.5 - Safari and just my bad luck but just in case I am posting here if it is a general issue for other ios users.
If it is a known issue is there any appeal process for reputation loss when its down to this sort of issue ? I assume not as its difficult to evidence which is fair enough.
