Possibility to restrict access to people only on computer (No mobile device)

Hello,

I'm rather new on BGA, but I've played a lot lately.

I've found a common pattern related to players on mobile devices: they're really slow, they often quit game (Connection issue or player's decision, don't know) or go overtime, it's rarely pleasant to play with them.

Simple exemple, I've tried Celestia, a Stop or continue game, and you have to choose if you stayed on board or not of the ship. 2 people where playing on mobile, it took them between 1 and 2 minutes to click on stay or leave the ship and they finally left the game. Very long and not really pleasant for a first time.

I've never tried to play on mobile, maybe it's not their fault, but it sometimes ruins game experience.

My suggestion: It would be nice to be able to specify that we want to play with players on mobile devices in our preferences.

Thanks

Just restrict your games to high karma users. No need to punish mobile players. I play tablet and never quit and play quite fast...

Also remember the site has high player count load because of Corona. Non premium members get kicked so premium have more stable game play.
And even then there are still some server issues left that hit everyone.

Quick note on that: it may have happened in the first days because of bugs when the limit was introduced as an emergency measure, but it was never the intent to kick anyone, especially not from a live game!

What we do is prevent new non-premium users to log in if a certain limit is reached. This prevents a saturation that would cause trouble for everyone already playing.

We have raised this limit above 37.000 players lately. This limit is now high enough to welcome everyone except on peak hours during the weekend, and we hope to be able to continue raising it until we are able to welcome everyone, weekend included.

Agree with previous poster. I'm almost always on mobile and I'm 100% karma. But then again, I only play turn based...

The word 'kicked' probably sounded harder than my intention :) . It was meant encouraging,... Interpretation should be more like 'give people who go on and offline a little break, there is a reason...' .

This is not about starting a war against mobile players, but most of slow players or leavers, in the games I've played, were on mobile.

The example I've used on Celestia is rather relevant of my experience, taking 2 or 3 minutes just to click on stay or leave button, is rather concerning.
Maybe it's people related, on mobile, you p^lay your turn, then do something else and leave your tablet/phone unattended for a few minutes.
Maybe the issue is elsewhere, maybe the solution is playing fast games (Sometimes, 4 minutes of reflexion for simple games are way too much), I don't know.

The suggestion is about adding a preference to improve game pleasure. I've talked about it with a few friends who are on BGA and most of them have the same impression.

By default, you'll play with everyone, but you could set your preference to play only with players on computer. This has not to be automatic (I don't suggest to match mobile with mobile and computer with computer)
