Board Game Arena

Whilst playing Metromania, I noticed a very small pi symbol down the bottom of the playing screen.
When clicking it, it brought me to a Matrix-esque screen saying things such as "Wake up, (playername)" or "follow the fingered cat"
Also "You dig a blue tunnel, the game ends" and "You dig a red tunnel, you stay in hexagonal wonderland"
What?
I'm very confused about it ahah
was very spooky
and i cannot find anything about it on the forums

It's an easter egg from the dev pikiou.
Most of the games he's coded for BGA have some kinda hidden pi symbol.
Usually when you click the symbol, it lets you see all the assets/pieces/cards that are in the game to check them out.
But I think for Metromania you can already see all the assets, so he did something else.

Because the game defaults to red and blue rails for players, you get a bunch of Matrix red pill/blue pill jokes.
The 'fingered cat' is probably a reference to the devs profile pic of Hobbes.
