Mean spirited reputation system easy to abuse

I recently restarted using this site after an 8 year break and my first attempt to start a game using my old tablet ending with the game crashing, which turned out to be most likely the fault of the tablet rather than a disconnection from the server.

It appears the other players from that game gave me red thumbs for, I guess, 'leaving' the game and my 'reputation' dropped to 60.

Since then I have played 40 plus games using a new tablet with no issues and no complaints from other players yet my reputation remains annoyingly at 'low'.

Everytime I visit the site I am told my reputation is low. This is really bugging me now at how rude it is to be told by this website my reputation is still bad after 40 plus games with no issue because I crashed one game. The system obviously sucks.

I would like to pay for a premium sub but not for a site that uses a seemingly mean spirited and easily abused system to put down its users.

Reputation is limited to 60 when you have too much red thumbs compared to green thumbs (I think it's 10%). So it's not enough to play games without problems, you also need players to give you green thumb. I agree that this system works ONLY if players give green thumbs each time they play a game without problems. (Note that you can't give several green thumbs to the same player.) And I think that it should be much more explicit that players should give green thumbs each time there's no problem, and not only if they think you're a nice person. (Or the 10% ratio should be changed.)

I think that this system is plain wrong, the number of people who give redthumbs is probably much higher than those would remember to, and actually care to give a greenthumb. And given how easy is it to give a redthumb, I think it is an unfair rule and should be changed

Sorry, this is not true.

You can give as much Red thumbs as you want if you choose "this is my personnal opinion". However, we do limit the red/green ratio if you choose "I do not recommend to play with X".

The statistics we have shows that only few players are hitting the red/green limit.

However, we are going to slightly change this system soon, but the spirit will be the same.

But why is there a red flag post on the front page telling me a significant number of users don't like playing with me? I've done nothing wrong I think. It appears pretty mean spirited to me.

Also why is it easy to give a red flag yet incredibly hard to get back your 'reputation'?

It is actually not easy to give serious red thumbs(no one should play with X thumbs). You can only use 1 red thumb of this variety for every 5 green ones you give.

Ok thats good to know. Don't get me wrong I think this site is great. But the reputation system has some issues that drag the site down.

Right, I forgot about the 5redthumbs/1greenthumb system. It is good to hear that only few are hitting the red/green limit, this means that more people do actually greenthumb.
