Blocking inappropriate players

I had an unfortunate situation where, in-game, a player started making inappropriate comments (while my two younger children were watching.)
I couldn't figure out how to block the player (who was making moves, but also saying non-kid-friendly things.) I had to leave, and the game was ruined for 3 players.

How do I block a player from the in game chat? From other forms of communication?

Is it possible for me to request karma and ranking don't get impacted by such a game (after I left half way through?)

What should I do next time this happens? (if it matters, I have a premium account.)

Thanks for the great website, 99% of the time no problems like this and me and my kids are having a great time.

Players cannot be blocked from chatting at the table. Red thumbs will prevent any messages to you.

You are at 100 Karma and your ELO wasn't affected. Alterations are generally not done unless it was caused by a BGA service outage.

Thanks.

I suppose I would suggest being able to mute the table chat as a reasonable feature - it's common in other games I play online.
Is this something that's been considered and seen as a negative? (or more like something that could be ok in principle but not enough people have asked?)
