Spectator status

You become a spectator now when a game ends. Spectators aren’t allowed to speak. So no more good game. Gg. Also no more talking with the other players when a game ends. Kind of a bummer.

I think you should allow the spectators to talk before game starts as well.

Being able to talk as an spectator in Werewolves games can be fun, annoying or useful to players depending on the situation. In all the other games I've seen, there is almost no chat, even less from spectators.
If an spectator knows the players in the game, the interaction can be fun.
If an spectator helps new players with the rules or the interface it can be useful so players may focus just in the game.
If an spectator is rude or try to interfere with the game it may be annoying.
In my experience, spectators in Werewolves games are respectful and almost always fun, useful or silent. Only rarely annoying.
In my opinion, by default spectators should be allowed to speak. But I would understand if the host was given the option to forbid spectators from speaking during the game at set-up (not the default option, it would have to be explicitly indicated).
Incidentlly, just this week I made a suggestion in the Werewolves' section for spectators to be able to join the dead chat to interact with eliminated players (see

I joined a game to interact with friends and I was unable to chat, I think the game should by default allow and have the option to disable (if it is of interest to the players).
I hope you will consider this option.

Please note there is a another thread with this same topic, maybe they should be merged if possible:

The subject is also being discussed in an official topic, in the following link, where they talk about the current changes.
I suggest people who commented here to centralize the feedback to try a good solution for the community.
Auto-start + spectators chat + many little things (May 8th update)

chatting and making friends is a big part of the appeal of board gaming and this website.
but limiting spectators from chatting that limits the ability to chat with friends.
I understand why some people might want to be able to turn this on,
but other people want to allow spectators to chat.
Wouldn't it be more universally beneficial if this were a toggle feature?

Now cant even ask if can join next game, without sending pm to someone. So spectator is useless, if cant communicate.
