I am a big fan of this website, and I really like the arena, where I play in several games. One of them is backgammon, that I really like.

I realized that the leader in leadderboard (Cyri69) didn’t play fairly : In the Arena, he always plays against the same player, probably two accounts for one person. He played about 20 times against this player, and won all the games. When you watch the games, and you know a little bit about backgammon, you can easily understand that those games are not real and that the only goal is to create more leader-board points for Cyri69.

I reported Cyri69 for cheating, and he was found guilty by BGA. Unfortunately, the sanction is just ridiculous : one day ban of chat, and reduction of the karma to 60% for at least one day. He didn’t recieve any sanction relative to the standings and is still leading with a real difficult score to beat. It’s quite sure that he will stay at this level till the end of the season.

I think it’s sad. Arena is made for competition. I really enjoy this and meet some very good players in backgammon. Those players are fair and the games are good. But if a cheater can easily win the competition, and if the organizer does nothing to prevent it, all of this is nonsense.

I agree entirely with Curling on this one. Let's not hold up a proven cheater as leader board winner. Not that I don't think that player shouldn't be forgiven, but lets not let one who got there by deceit stay there. A bank robber doesn't get to keep the cash if he gets caught... Fair punishment here would be to reset cyri69's score to zero and make them start over at the beginning... Playing fair this time. If they can get back on top fairly, more power to cyri69! (I doubt that can be done)

Yep, that is very obviously a cheater.

I agree, when it is that obvious, they should be removed from the arena rankings

hopefully they are punished and points removed. other blatant cheating accounts are currently sitting top 10 in all time prestige and while they have been punished as multiple accounts they haven't actually had the falsely gained prestige rankings for #1 Elo in a bunch of games removed or the associated trophies for top 1 thru top 20 in all those games. I'm hoping it comes eventually b/c if not then the integrity of the competition is lost.

Cheating is rampant in the top arena of a lot of games, and in my experience even evident reported players go away with a "not culprit" assertion...

The best thing to do in my opinion is red thumb them, remember that arena = internet points with no value, and add as friend actually nice players (which there are a lot !) for forming games with trusted players.

The site is not meant to provide a viable competitive scene, and it's evidently not the focus right now (which seems only fair).

So report them. You have sent 1 report in regards to this, which was marked with "Investigation in progress."

Keep in mind that such reports are very work intensive and therefor do take a lot of time to process.

What does the actual message say? Even if the state of the report was set while it is being evaluated, does not mean that any following penalties cannot be applied.

It says what I wrote ? I don't even know where you're coming from, the UI seems very clear this is ended.
