Better arena idea

Why not have arena mode work exactly like the current elo system? No need to write any new code! Players could choose to play at arena elo tables or regular elo tables, and neither elo system effects the other.
Arena Elo:
1. Resets to 0 at the start of a new season.
2. Allows players to control which settings they want to play their games.
3. Allows players to choose who they play against.
4. When they reach 200 elo they can set their table to "good and above" to help boost their elo.
5. Never be forced into a game you don't want to play.
6. Top ranked players could actually compete in the arena, because it would have no neg effect on the elo they earned on in regular games.
The normal elo system works pretty well. Why not see who can reach the top every season and then reset to 0 and do it again? This sounds like so much fun. With no downsides I think everyone would be playing arena mode soon.
