Board Game Arena

I'm on the diamond level. What's weird is I almost never get points for winning anymore. Even when the opponent is at my level almost exactly. I only get points if I beat someone above me and usually only if they are 50 or so ELO points above me. What's up with that?

In arena, the arena points you gain dont depend on the opponents ELO, but on his arena rating/rank.
While you actually always win/lose arena rating, this rating isn‘t visible till you reach elite level.
Below that, if you still are climbing the ranks, it depends on your opponents tier how much progress in a tier you make.

I believe you win/lose 3 (or 4?) „tier points“ vs someone in the same arena tier, 2 against someone one tier below, 1 against someone two tiers below and 0 against all even lower. So as you still were in platinum, you couldn’t win tier points vs someone in bronze, and now in diamond you gain no tier progress vs bronze and silver players. I checked your last games and it goes according to that system.

Before you start your arena game search, you can define in the settings (little wheel at the left of the games pic) that you dont want to fight someone which is many tiers below you.
