Board Game Arena

There's this card game Oh Hell! (known under many other names) and the commercially produced version of it, Rage or Oh Hell!.

I'd like to (create &) play the latter. It's published by a whole lot of publishers: 999 Games, AMIGO, Borras Plana S.A., Canada Games, Fundex, Gibsons, Grow Jogos e Brinquedos, Ideal, International Games, Mattel, POOF-Slinky, Popcorn Games, Ventura Games, Waddingtons...
However it does not appear in the licenses list. Shockingly, 999 Games doesn't even appear in the publishers list...

Looking at the original card game, it seems to be already published on BGA:

But if you search for it on BGA, it cannot be found.

There IS a version online though, here it's called Boerenbridge.

I'm at the loss for the status of this game. Is there a license for the new version?

Well, yes, but no.

Apparently that game is called Boerenbridge for me, because it is translated to Dutch. So yes, that's the old-school normal-deck-of-cards version of the game Oh Hell.

However I really like the commercially produced version, also called Rage, which works substantially different (more suits, some special cards).

The "Oh Hell!" version implemented on BGA is the classic, public domain version. We don't have a license for "Rage" at the moment (otherwise it would be listed with that name in the studio available licenses list). NB: for questions regarding game licenses, the best is to write us at studio@boardgamearena.com

I tested "oh hell", and I like the implementation. But I would like to add sorting to the hand.

@Een, wouldn't that be a good idea? Or if you don't want that by default, it could be a preference?

No specific opinion on this. My advice would be to contact the original developer, ask him if he agrees and if he can give you admin access to the project to implement the change.
If you don't get an answer from the developer in a reasonable time (taking into account that this is summertime) please let us know at studio@boardgamearena.com so that we can see about transferring access rights.
