extra card you get with writing civilization card

there is supposed to be a face down civ card you get that is revealed at the end of the game when you pick the one writing card that has it. never saw the face down card, did i get it at the time i never got it, oi went through the game log looking for it. am i confused, i cant believe it is a bug im assuming i missed it somehow.

just to clarify , i couldnt find any evidence for it in the game log, so im wondering if i misinterpreted the rules its aa green civ card with paper on the bottom and a card image in the top.

It helps to put the table number when trying to track down clarification...
(I looked at the replay of the game closest in time to the post, couldn't find where you purchased the card.)
But, what happens is that you purchase the civ card. The bottom of this card will show up in your cards area. Then, the bottom of the new card will show up in your cards area too. Then play continues.
IE, you don't see the entire card ever, only the bottom part will show up as an addition to your acquired cards.

Edit. Oh, wait, I think I was looking at a game way too early.
Table 101452256, at move 44, right? Your card area before the move showed a 1xbuilding, and the flute. You bought the card (and the log says "audinator draws a civilization card face down") and your card area now shows a 1xbuilding, the flute, the paper, and also the Venus (the bottom of the face-down card).

Hello,
When you 'buy' this card, it is automatically added to the other visible civilization cards you already have.
And the other card is added automatically as well. But there's no indication which was it, you have to guess by deduction, and it doesn't appear in the log.
It's very easy to miss it.

As said by Jest, it is appearing in the game log: "xxx draws a civilization card face down".
If some cards were left but are only wild animals, the log also say it: "No civilization card drawable face down, only wild animal cards remain".
If no card were left at all (may happen at the last turn of the game), the log say nothing.
