The initial deployment, where you select each ship in the scrapyard before clicking on the orbital location to deploy it is a bit slow.

I'm thinking of making it match what happens with the Reorganization card -- the game will auto-select the ships for you to place, so just 3 clicks on the map to deploy your 3 starting ships. You could still rearrange them after deployment if you wish, like you can now.

I think this is a good idea!

As you said, as long as it preserves the ability to swap them around after all three are placed I am fine.
Not a pain point for me but I could see it being slightly smoother experience.
