Arena Ladder - Turn Based vs Real Time

Hello All,

I wanted to get the community opinion on separating arena ladder for turn based vs real time game modes.

IMHO, turn based mode gives players significantly more time to think, discuss, evaluate their moves and as such should not be compared with the real time mode. Analogous to Classical vs Rapid Chess rankings, different time settings requires somewhat different skill sets, and thus should be evaluated separately. The distinction becomes very relevant for more complicated games, like Terra Mystica.

I would argue that BGA should split the Arena ladder for Turn Based vs Real Time games.

Interested in finding out what everyone here thinks.

Thanks!

Many games have quite a low activity generally, and separating turn based and live games would make the leaderboards even more meaningless.

I‘d be more torn about different ELOs for different game configurations (other than time). But also there, it would mean quite an additional level of complexity, which has drawbacks.
