[Puerto Rico] Indigo player strategies? (4 players)

Hey forum,
After playing 200+ games I noticed a significant disproportion when it comes to winning. In my games, corn players usually do much better. It seems like a better start. What's your opinion? What are your strategies when it comes to first and second player (indigo) starting positions?
