Hi all. When I set up a hive game with a friend I am always automatically assigned the white team which then goes first. Is it possible to change this or does my friend need to be a premium member to set up the game herself and play as white?

It should be random. However, you could always request a rematch after your next game and it will automatically switch colours.

Hive isn't a premium game so anybody can set up a game.

And, while 6 games in a row being white and pingu2020 being black is unusual, it is still a 1 in 64 chance of happening. (Sorry, in some other threads I'm involved in some [s]flamewars[/s] discussions about the random number generator on BGA, so I'm a bit sensitive...) You might want to give it a few more times before concluding that it always happens.

But, yeah, as Lotus Blossom said, proposing a rematch should guarantee a color switch.
