Notifications backlog phone/laptop

I play through firefox on my laptop (Win10) and through safari on my phone (iOS)
After having played on my phone, the next time i open firefox on my laptop I get a flurry of notifications.
Is there some kind of setting I can change to stop this happening?
or maybe if i play through firefox on my phone would that stop it also?
