Board Game Arena

Let me explain my topic question.

I'm an elementary art teacher currently teaching from home for the foreseeable future. Back in the days of in person learning I hosted an after school tabletop gaming club. I would love to have my students meet on here to play games but my district rules prevent us from doing this. (Students can't create accounts of their own on public websites).

Some websites have Classroom options where a teacher signs up and then creates a classroom of students. The system becomes a closed system for those users so that when they log in the only interactions they have are with each other.

Anyhow, I know this is a big ask, but is it possible for this site to do this? I figure now is as good a time as any as BGA has been undergoing some serious growth during COVID.

Judging by forum posts about privacy concerns and parental controls, I don't believe that this is currently an option.

However, I am not BGA staff, and can't say if it can be created or not. Some tasks won't require much extra coding, but some limits on interaction go against the foundations of building a worldwide gaming community and would require major overhauls.

Yeah for sure.... it would have to somehow be like a subset membership.

I don't know that it can be done, but it would be sweet if it could!!

You can create private game tables, even private tournaments. And you can create private groups.

yes, and some school districts may students to sign up for BGA but mine doesn't.

It has to do with student privacy and the laws in my state. Basically, even if all school related activity (my club) was done privately, I'm still having to have minors sign up on a site where they could be contacted by strangers. All web activity we do needs to be done on closed systems, unfortunately.
