Games with no time limit

A suggestion:
On games that are ended due to no play after a long time why not count them as abandoned by the last player for karma, ELO etc purposes.
This prevents a certain form of abuse and I can't see it being a problem for people who legitimately can't guarantee regular daily slots. If you can't play inside a month you can propose to abandon.
Am I missing something?
