Trump Selection

This game has many different names across the world. I know it as Clag.
However in ever variant I have ever played the Trump suit progresses through a predetermined sequence
and there is usually a hand of No Trumps in the middle.
For example a longer game of say 9 to 1 to 9 might go S,H,D,C,S,H,D,C, NT, C,D,H,S,C,D,H,S
On BGA the trump suit seems to be determined randomly and I've have 3 hands of the same trump suit consecutively
Does it matter?
Yeah it does kinda irk TBH.
And having some No Trump hands would be a real boon to the game imo
