Board Game Arena

hi,

im sorry...this is the most basic question ever...but how fo you change the settings of number of players and speed (i need to change it to slow)-i usually click on the game and can change from turn based but dont see those other options...

im so sad cause i was playing kingdom builder the other day and was at the end and about to win and someone kicked me out for going slow...that is so not fun! i like to make it to the end of the game (win or loose)...so i just want to say that is totally bogus and how is it even fun (for that person) to get points that way...feels like cheating

There are two options:

1. Set opponent selection to Manual. You can then create your own table with the settings you want, and wait for others to join:



2. Set opponent selection to Automatic and click the gear icon next to the game you want to change the settings for:



I will say though that while I understand the frustration of losing a game in such a way, calling it cheating is a bit of a stretch (unsportsmanlike maybe). Time control and dealing with time pressure are a part of most board games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_control. For example: if someone who is one move away from checkmate ran out of time, he would also lose the game.
