Moderation & Penalties

Dear sourisdudesert

Thank you for taking the time to respond, much appreciated.

I may have been given the "smallest penalty", however, the point which I am making is players like (LouiseB) frequently register for games and then do not play, which is extremely frustrating for opponents.

I would like to point out that this player once again today has registered for the same Real-Time game (Today, 6 nimmt! #114330158) and has had their turn skipped at the start of the game.

Therefore, it is hardly surprising that players like myself responded the way we do to players like LouiseB.

Kind Regards

You provoked and insulted your opponent and get a -1 karma penalty, which is one of the smallest penalty you can have, just to make you understand that this is not a correct reaction whatever the situation.

We felt that nobody should receive an insult on BGA, whatever the reason.

If you feel otherwise, please go play somewhere else.

Dear Sir / Madam

Thank you for your warning. This moderation does not require a response from myself, however, I think it is time that BGA re thought the penalty for those players who register for games and tournaments and then do not participate. This is a frequenet occurance.

If a player is participating in a Real-Time game, then that player should be online and not in another tab. My words may have been harsh, but I am fedup of players like this particular one (LouiseB) who keep other players waiting whilst they are doing other things.

This player is annoyed because I skipped their turn and they recieved a penalty. Furthermore, I do not appreciate being distracted during a game by a player who has had their turn skipped by stupid questions. Why did this player not ask all other participants in this game their question, just me? The answer to this question is to provoke.

This player needs to be responsible for their actions and not blame others, therefore, I am reporting this player for their ignorance.

If BGA decide to give me a further penalty then fine.

I will also be posting this in FORUMS for all to see and read, because I know for a fact that I am not the only one who feels this way about time wasters.

Regards

Countess-Aleksey

I am not taking sides in this discussion. However, I would like to point out that your way of discussing your issue is not conducive to getting your view across.

You begin by discussing the moderation system, then immediately switch to the issue you want to discuss: players signing up for tournaments and not participating.

You call out a specific individual in the forums, which is generally considered bad manners.

You state that people like that should be punished, completely ignoring the system already in place to do just that -- reduce the karma of people who commit to a game and don't finish it.

Tied into this is a tone of "I was in the wrong, but they were also wrong." As has been stated before, retaliation is not the answer.

Constructive criticism and rational discussion is generally well-tolerated in these forums. Public shaming of an individual or organization is not.

I agree with 100% of the previous post. But beside this, when we lock a thread and explain that the subject is close, it means "please do not re open it".

So again, the thread is locked, the subject is closed, and please let this forum for the players who really want to discuss relevant subjects.
