Board Game Arena

This moderation is a joke. Can't even disagree in chat. Play thousands of games, now I basically can't type anymore because literally anything is reportable. The following is what I am allowed to type : GG, GL, HF. That's it. In real life, you can still disagree with other people, this takes away a lot from this website.

I now have to play like a bot, don't type anything and I have to ignore everyone because for some reason they can type garbage to me and I can't respond. /rant

You know it's funny seeing all these moderation posts. Obviously as users we cannot see a user's chat history or anything like that to check the validity of these complaints.

But I like to remind myself that when I see a post on reddit of someone complaining about being banned from another subreddit, 9/10 you go through their post history and the ban is more than justified. 10/10 they leave out key information which explains the ban.

All I'm saying is we cannot know the full story for moderations on a site like this.

I agree that the moderation process needs to be looked at and overhauled, perhaps bringing on some more members who would be willing to write up the procedures for it and get a system in place to ensure consistency and transparency.

I digress. OP, if people are being rude to you against site rules--you can report them or red thumb them. Also remember there's a difference between disagreeing with someone in a civil manner and in a rude manner. Benefit of the doubt is that you were civil and the person mis-read what you said, in which case I'm sorry you've had this experience and I hope it gets resolved for you!
