Prevent end-of-season "cheating" by not ending game

I have currently an adversary having one more move to do to end the game (and loose) on 7 different games. He does not want to do it before the end of season to artificially augment his arena points.

If he doesn't exceed his time, how exactly do you see such prevention? Agreeing on starting a game is connected with agreeing to play it in certain timeframe. Altering this time for shorter doesn't seem fair. (although maybe it is possible to change arena season settings so that each game started in the season had to end for the season to be ended - which means, game ended itself by someone winning, or a player was time-kicked or both players are inactive. But that would probably mean having two seasons at once or a timeframe that a game cannot be started in arena way.)

If he does exceed his time, isn't it possible to kick such player?

(I don't play Arena, sorry if my remarks are irrelevant.)

The FAQ says:

"You should not...
Take an unnecessary and unreasonable amount of time at the end of game in an obvious losing situation."
and that "Going against these rules will affect your reputation".

What's needed is for this part of the FAQ to be enforced against people who break it. I had a look at a couple of sylviel's affected games; the delaying by his opponent was so egregious that I would support sylviel being awarded a win for each of these games and a final warning for his opponent.

This player (Manasses) is really unfair. This is not a fair competition, but a disease. Totally agree with sylviel.

@Ankeszu : He is not exceeding his time, but using the maximum amount to differ his losses, thus earning more wins than deserved for a few days, leading to reaching higher positionning in the ladder.

I suggest the following to ensure that all game end before deadline : when close to the end give a maximum time to play instead of giving time for each turn played. For example when reaching 96 hours from deadline each player has a maximum of 48hours to end the game. You can start game after that, just give half the remaining time to each player (with warning before launching).
