Bonjour

Il semble avéré que le joueur 1 a un avantage
Cela pourrait se corriger simplement en faisant toujours débuter le joueur le plus faible en nombre de points
Cela rétablirait un peu l Equilibre

Playing first definitely has an edge. As does replays and other aspects. However, the golden rule when we play Duel in our group is that we play minimum of 8 games before deciding a winner in order to overcome the variances!

Yeah playing a best of 5 would be a good tournament rule

there definitely is an advantage going first. second player is usually revealing all the cards on the pyramid plus first player gets better resources usually.

I just played the same guy 6 times and he got first every game and won every one of them I'm feeling salty

It is baffling to me that this topic is revived, viewed and commented on so often, despite "7WD in Numbers" having the more qualitative/interesting information about this, and more other, topics. :?

Huge advantage of going first. The game plays itself when you play against people that know what they are doing.

There is so little decision making in this game it's not even worth playing

try the expansions ;) It is way less trivial/determenistic!!!
If you are still thinking, it is a game decided in the first turns, try to play anyone above 630 elo. If they play seriously you will notice very quickly that is not so ;)
First player advantage is Just a major problem in original and Pantheon, not Agora or playing with both expansions.

Note: not saying that original is simplistic, just simplistic in comparison. Also it gets way harder against actually superb opponents. BUT the decisions one can make to unscrew situations or getting advantage, are way more rare and less impactful, in the sense of turning the game!
