Hi everybody,

I don't know if it's possible to create a table just to watch people playing (so without playing) or is it mandatory to play ?

It is not possible to create a table and not participate in the game.

One reason could be that this prevents a premium member setting up several tables of premium games, not participating in them, and diluting the ratio of premium members actually playing the game. Games are premium because the publisher requires payment, not because BGA wants to prevent people having fun by restricting access to the game. Changing the ratio from a minimum of 1/7th of the participants being premium (in the case of 7 Wonders) to 0//7ths is a large change. Games with fewer players would have even a larger impact on BGA's finances.

There may be other reasons for the restriction as well.

But, it is seldom an issue to be able to just watch a game. From the "games" tab, you should be able to find a game in progress to become a spectator on, or (by clicking on the number of games played) find a finished game to watch the complete replay from any player's perspective.
