WTF?

Been gone from BGA and Hanabi for a week. WHAT HAPPENED?
The people involved in the new layout shold immediatly get their mouse and keyboards destroyed and NEVER be allowed to do any UX related work ever again.
Whoever cleared this for release and whoever cleared this for inclusion in BGA should be made to wear millstones around their necks for the next year.
Yes, this is a non constructive whine post. But the new layout deserves it!
This change might be the reason I chose to leave BGA, as Hanabi is the primary game I'm here for. And if this is what changes BGA aim for, there's no need to get attached to other games on the platform as someone might be allowed to mess them up beyond recognition too in the neat future.

So what are you expecting with this "non constructive whine post" exactly ?
Don't you think you are a bit over-reacting there ? "beyond recognition" ?

- To show my disgust for the new version and hopefully get the developer to think through their choices once more and make the much needed adjustments suggested by others. To me, the developer seems to be showing some sort of ostrich behaviour. I also want someone with influence on BGA actions take notice so that they are more careful of theese type of changes in the future. (Yes, I've ended the automatic renewal of my subsription due to this change.)
- To me the UI is a train wreck. I'm using a normal display, and the stacked option still can't show five players properly without scrolling. The bomb tokens are gone, and I'm supposed to read of the background changing colour. A background that is too narrow when playing with multicolor and/or black powder. The discard pile is hard to read and also sorts the card by numbers instead of chronologically when discarded/missed. And the "pretty" icons for the colours? Come on. Make something more stylized that can actually convey some information instead of making you think ther might be dust on the screen.

In case you din´t know, you can swich from cards "around the table" to "stackd" under options during the game.

But both look silly regardless when I change it. Or am I missing something you are trying to say?

Can you elaborate on that topic ?

From other posts and bug reports, it seems they don't acknowledge any issues leading to the less controversial suggestions that would be a much needed improvement.

Wish I could say this was unexpected, but this is the same developer who has ruined Alhambra on here too. They have not done anything to address issues there so completely unsurprised that this is a dumpster fire....hopefully BGA can step in and work things out
Sad to hear... The issue is not that they have moved the cheese, but also replaced it with a cheese analogue. Hopefully BGA will implement better requirements and QA routines.

Well, the good news is they at least listened and brought the hint buttons back. The bad news is that the stacked UI still takes up too much screen space. It needs to be squished down somehow.
