Turn Based Games?

I'm curious how people think The Crew works turn based. There are times when you pause in a real-time or real-life game to allow for others to communicate something that is necessary to win the mission. But there is no mechanism to do that in the turn-based game here and not even any way that the other players know that they may need to communicate something since no action is "required", even though it might be advantageous.
Is there any way to prevent this? Seems pretty similar to Celestia to me in that way, which is not implemented in turn based. I think the only way it could work is if every player got a ping to see if they want to comm after every action. Otherwise, I don't think The Crew works at all turn based.

The Crew works fine turn based. We are up to mission 37 or so, all turn based. When the commander has to divvy up the tasks, it is definitely easier when we are all actually present, but other than that, it works well. For the later missions, I just post in our game chat "gimme a hint" if my crew members still have hints available to give and I need one to figure out what to lead.
That last thing I would want is to be sent a ping to see if I want to Comm after every action. It would be so annoying, I would probably have to abandon this game.

You have your communication token for communicating... That's it.

You can select to communicate during a round and then you will get the opportunity to do so before the next trick starts. Obviously there is still some planning with that and you can't always react to something unexpected happening if the next trick starts before you see it...but its a long way from being unable to communicate at all.
