Discard Pile

Is it possible to show the discard pile similar to Hanabi? This could also be an option to select before the game, so that people who don't want this help can disable it. Currently, we are often checking the action history manually which works - but is a bit tedious.
(I am not sure if in the original game you are allowed to check the discard pile.)

I am not sure if it's completely within the spirit of the game but seems that missions 15+ are really hard to complete without counting.
We have tried to use a shared spreadsheet for a while but it requires someone to book keep it.
Finally I sat today and wrote this:
- Click in the address bar, replace it with "javascript:"
The table will be displayed when it's time to make turns. There is no need to do anything between the missions but you have to redo the steps after reloading the tab.
Source code is in the same gist. "Missing colors" by player is only detected when one plays off-color.
Localization
Script parses localized log of your actions and works only with English and Russian locales.
Will be happy to add more translations with your help, please just leave a comment under the gist with the appropriate entries for "textToType" map to be added.
Enjoy!

If you play on computer/tablet you can see all the played cards beneath the names of the crewmembers, right corner.

@queed Oh, that looks nice! Will give it a tryI agree that it might not be in the spirit of the game - but as Ursula1972 points out: the logging is already there on the right side, it is just tedious to scroll.

*facepalm* Of course it is totally against the spirit of the game to create a JavaScript helper for record keeping.
From the Rules: Gewonnene Stiche werden verdeckt abgelegt; nur der jeweils letzte Stich darf nochmals betrachtet werden.
English (from the Thames & Kosmos manual): Tricks that are won are set aside face down, only the last trick can be looked at.
Why don't you just connect via group chat and discuss your next move? You can also announce the cards that you hold. It makes the game much more enjoyable.

For those of you complaining about "how the game was meant to be played". Try playing turn-based where you get one turn every few days. There is no reasonable way to remember what has been played and in some cases you may not even see all the cards played. I lead and 4 other cards are played and then 4 more on the next trick before my next turn. We can enjoy the game turn based with the log and/or with a tool like this. But relying on a perfect memory to enjoy the game is silly. It is still a fun challenge even WITH the discarded cards known. Especially with 5 players without the 5 player rule.
Just the "Yes/No" voting on some missions can take a couple of weeks.

I made a browser extension to implement this and fix some of the other issues with the game, see:
