Hi everybody,

French Tarot format for live tournaments is 4p (4 players). But most people play 5p (5 players), which is different, more luck related, but competitive too.
Thus, I would like to have your opinion about introducing it in Arena. Of course, 4p would remain the reference setting 1 season out of two, it will not be removed in any case.

• If most of us agree with the proposal, then I will ask the admins of BGA to introduce this pattern for Arena play.
• Otherwise, the current setting will not be changed so that all Arena seasons will still be played 4p.

Bonjour,

Pour ma part, le jeu à 5 ne se prête pas du tout au jeu en arène en raison du phénomène "Faiseur de roi".

En effet, à 4, le dernier peut toujours tenter une "garde contre le chien" ou "sans le chien" de la dernière chance, son échec ne généra personne.
En revanche, à 5, le premier, ou n'importe quel autre joueur, ragera de se voir entrainer dans le traquenard du dernier parce qu'il a un malheureux roi et rien autour. Je trouve cela totalement injuste et inapproprié. BGA en mode arène attire beaucoup de joueurs à 4 qui arrêteront tout simplement de jouer au tarot sur BGA. Je ne sais pas sur quel site jouent les joueurs de compétition mais ça me désolerait de ne plus les voir sur BGA. J'ai sondé nombre de bons joueurs à 4 qui m'ont indiqué qu'ils arrêteraient de jouer au tarot sur BGA en cas d'arène à 5.

Et je terminerai en reprenant l'idée de la comparaison avec 7 wonders reprise plus haut. Le tarot à 5 en arène, c'est comme si 7 Wonders passait à 7 joueurs en arène ce serait du grand n'importe quoi.

J'en profite pour dire que ce qui serait génial serait d'organiser un tournoi de duplicate à 4 joueurs mais probablement qu'il faudrait du dev informatique.

In accordance with the poll results, French Tarot will have alternate settings one season out of two:

• 4 players during odd seasons
• 5 players during even seasons

This way, both "truly competitive" play (4p) and popular play (5p) will be possible during their dedicated seasons.
Next season 4 will be played with 5 player settings, season 5 with 4 players, season 6 with 5 and so on.

Sorry if some of you are disapointed but that seems to be the best compromise to share both types of play. If the current season setting do not please you, be patient, be back 3 months later and until then you can still launch non-Arena tables

Aucune compétition de tarot ne se joue à 5. Le vrai tarot, c'est pour 4 joueurs, ni 3, ni 5. A 5 je n'y jouerais plus sur ce site, dommage.

Ce sondage n'a aucune valeur car diffusé seulement parmi les joueurs de tarot à 5 ... Je suis tombé dessus par accident... Le seul vrai tarot se joue à 4. Cest pas moi qui le dit renseignez-vous.
