Broken "abandon" option

The game creator asks to abandon the game, since he didn't like something about it.
We other players get prompted whether we want to abandon the game. We choose no.
The creator keeps not moving, and choosing "abandon game", and we keep getting prompted to abandon.
We've already made our choice - we should NOT get prompted again, and the player should have to move,
instead of being able to hold up the game forever and force us into abandonment by tiring us out.
There's no point to collective agreement when we don't have another option but to agree!

The creator cannot hold up the game forever -- only until their thinking time runs out, in which case they receive a karma penalty and can be kicked from the game.

Unless you agreed to play with unlimited time, which is why there is a warning to do this only with people you know.

That may be, but by that time he's already worn out our patience - at least mine. After three times of getting prompted to abandon when I've already chosen no, and after discussing the choices with the other players in the chat I have zero patience left to keep clicking No. And I'm a fairly patient player.

And it's not like this is a one-time occurrence. I've made the experience numerous times that some player doesn't like something about a game, and while he doesn't quit to avoid a penalty, he gets the others to eventually abandon just by being persistent about it. It's one of the main reasons I don't play here as much as on other sites, because so many games never get finished.

So, everything seems to be working as intended, and its just that the person proposing to abandon has more patience in restating the proposition than you have in ignoring it. And, yes, you can ignore it: you don't have to cast a vote. If you don't cast a vote, they can't propose it again.

What do you suggest BGA does?

Since I get on turn just to respond to the abandonment proposal, without the other player having moved and hence without being able to move myself, indeed I cannot just ignore the proposal.

I propose that BGA change the abandonment proposal so it can only be submitted together with making a move. There's absolutely no reason a player should be able to repeatedly ask the same question and hold up progress in the game in the meantime.

The problem with this is that some games may still lock up, though rare it is.
