Please rename the killing spree acchievement

Not only is the name in general extremely inappropriate, the translations and especially the German translation as "Amoklauf" are most certainly not what should be conveyed. The word is used in the context of school shootings and similar events and I find it quite frankly appalling how carelessly these words are being used on this website for a badge. Do we really have to glorify murder and violence on a website for boardgames ffs?

I know what you mean. It's maybe okay in a first person shooter game but out of context it's just unpleasant.
"Winning streak" is a better name.

So, yeah, an FPS could happen on BGA.
And killing spree is a bad name for a trophy, especially for those of us who like to follow that rule of "thou shall not kill."

Hi,
I agree with your point.
I made the official request to the BGA Team : changing "
Killing spree" to "
Winning streak".
They should be rely soon (usually it takes less than a working day).
For those who don't know, you can suggest changes for original English strings (for example achievement names, BGA warning messages, section labels...) using the BGA translation system and translating
English to English.
This can be a bit odd but this is the way the community can participate. Of course you need to justify your proposal for change. If ultimately accepted, you will receive a mail and the string will be modified also for all translators who can then apply the change in their native languages.
However, there may be an experience in translation requirement in order to use such a feature.

I've been making quite a few "translation" changes recently but it is sometimes hard to know what a good translation should be out of context. I saw the killing spree thing but didn't know this was an award that you get for winning consecutive games.

Are the 10, 20 and 50 consecutive wins also going to need name changes then?
They all follow a similar theme. (And I can definitely associate the 2 & 3 consecutive wins as being in a similar vein - and I don't think it's just the images given with them)

Same for expert/master/... assassin.
The context isn't even that you are a great "assassin" but that you assassinated an expert/a master.

I agree. This naming convention is in poor taste.
