Wondering how many Pinochle players might be here?

Pinochle is already in Alpha, unfortunately the person developing it has not been on BGA for 1 year so it currently stands in limbo so far as I can tell. It could use a little more polish but is playable as it stands, we need to figure out a way to get someone else on developing it so it can make it to Beta!

Actually there was a mistake, the game has been put in alpha just in August. The dev account linked to the game was not the proper one (very small difference). We have fixed that, the actual developer has been around a few days ago.

I know developer's sometimes look for additional people to play. Would love to be added to Pinchole.

I think there is a good case for many of the (effectively) public domain card games to be made available, they're a good entry point to the interface for this site, and don't use any proprietary images. I'd be interested in seeing Crazy 8s being added as I used to play a variant of that at school which allowed plays to shed a sequence of cards (and hence forcing players to pick up was a double-edged sword as you had a chance of filling in gaps in your runs - I'm sure someone managed to lay down over 20 cards once).
There is maybe a case for making some of the solitaire games available too, especially for ones like Montana/Gaps where you could feasibly have it as a race with players competing to solve a game in the shortest number of moves (Gaps is completely open information, and it rewards smart planning of how you sequence your moves - curious if there is an abstract game that makes use of that mechanic come to think of it...)

I know for sure that if Pinochle were on BGA, my family and I would play the heck out of it! Please get it in Beta!
