Or you missed the mist?
Will you help Sirrus and Achenar?
Is it only my nostalgia ringing at the door in December ?
Too many intended puns in that title.
Here is a king of a game. One of the best cooperative game of it's kind (some would say "solo game with spectators", but eh, matter of tastes)
Forbidden Island is a game from 2010 from Matt Leacock (Pandemic, Roll Through the Ages, etc..) that is brilliant at giving a short, tense and challenging puzzle to solve.
The story is quite simple : You're on an island that is getting slowly but surely engulfed by the sea. But you have to find and take back all of the 4 treasures before they disappear forever. Oh, and you have to get them onboard your helicopter and fly away with your team.
The only issue is that you'll have to work as a team on this.
Depending on the character you have, you can either dry up a tile, swim, move people, etc...
So, instead of winning by competing with other players like most games, everyone must work together to win the game. Players take turns moving their pawns around the 'island', which is built by arranging the many beautifully screen-printed tiles before play begins. As the game progresses, more and more island tiles sink, becoming unavailable, and the pace increases. Players use strategies to keep the island from sinking, while trying to collect treasures and items. As the water level rises, it gets more difficult- sacrifices must be made.
Just have a look at the game on the page here, and try it!

The Board Game Arena team would like to thanks a lot the game designer, Matt Leacock, as well as the publisher, GameWright, to allow us to bring this wonderful game to your beloved platform.
Of course, nothing would have been possible without the help of jeffdi, our developer, who integrated the game to BGA in the best way.
Have a good time playing it till the end of the year: we're preparing surprises for the next months...
Take care and play fair!
