Best games for turn based

Been playing some turn based with friends and we spend a good amount of time speculating on what games we should play for slow turn based. So far Tzolkin has been the only game that lends itself really well. Terra Mystica is ok but waiting for power decisions is not ideal. Similarly waiting for people to minor actions in puerto rico isn't ideal. Russian railroads was ok but had a large number of total turns. Caravan and thurn and taxis were ok but not really worth playing over multiple days.

Polling the audience here: what are some good games that:
1. Requires a lot of thinking and would be worth playing over multiple days.
2. Don't contain turn interrupting decisions from other players.
3. Don't have a super high number of turn handoffs.

From the games I play/like I find La Granja and Rallyman work best as turn based over real time at least.

I think you're splitting hairs, as long as the game get finished. Terra Mystica has an option for auto power gains.

From memory, best fits for your niche needs:
Lewis & Clark, Yokohama, Nippon, In The Year of the Dragon, Roll for the Galaxy.

and most others under "core gamer" games.

Just wanted to follow up and say, we played Yokohama based on the recommendation and big ups. Works great for turn based.

Rallyman GT and Potion Explosion.
(For the opposite end of the spectrum, a game that you should never play turn-based is Tichu.)
