Watergate: A card-driven 2-Player game

Post by Ginso »

Hello everybody,
the game 'Watergate' is now in alpha.
It's a game for 2 players and it's about the watergate scandal.
One player will take the role of the editor, trying to link Nixon with evidences and the other will play the nixon administration and try to prevent that.
Have fun playing and don't forget to report bugs.

As far as i know, the rules are only available on english and german. Don't get scared by the size of the rulebook, a great deal of it is background information about the history of the scandal and not necessary to know for the game.

Had fun playing this. Ran into a couple issues.

Game #144938163
Editor played The "Smoking Gun" tape
Nixon played John Mitchel in respone but was only given an option to play for value. Did so, was allowed to move evidence. Then game state moved to Nixon and never dealt with "Smoking Gun".

Nixon played Gordon Lilly
Editor played Ben Bradley as reaction. Editor then asked to Play Ben Bradley as a value. Stopping Gordon Lilly AND getting Ben Bradley as a value play.

During game the following cards were stuck on the board on top right of evidence board, spreading left to right and overing artwork.
Martha Mitchel who was canceled via reaction by Editor
The "Smoking Gun" tapes canceled via reaction
Gordon Lilly canceled via reaction

My girlfriend and I really enjoy Watergate. I’d be interested in helping test this implementation out. We have lots of games played of this.

Impossible to play in current condition.
