Karma loss in tournament games

It seems poor to me that karma change for quitting or running out of time in tournament games is only -4. The follow-on effect on tournaments is much worse than just quitting a random game, yet there is only a tiny penalty.
There is a player who has timed out/quit from 32 tournament games *today* and has left 308 games in his "recent penalties" and his karma isn't even zero. Sometimes he gets it up to 100% before ruining dozens of tournament games again. There is little point having a karma system when it does absolutely nothing to stop someone like this.

That player has only suffered about a dozen -4 quit penalties today, but has joined another 15 tournaments to make sure the abandonment ratio can stay high.

who it is, we could put a lot of red thumbs and maybe modorators will see that this player use trash technique to ruin games and play like 100 of games in a few time to reget 100% karma.

My point was that the site should discourage this systematically, rather than having a reduced karma loss for the worst offenders. If you haven't come across him, you're lucky.

When I put a red thumb it says I can't change his reputation because we had no direct match, but he's ruining every tournament I join.

not if you use the "personnal reason", making the possiblilities to red thumb him whiteout restrictions.

An example from a current Roll for the Galaxy Tournament:
Round 1: Booted with -7:44 on the clock without even playing the first turn. (
https://boardgamearena.com/gamereview?table=146169466)
Round 2: Booted with -11:20 on the clock at 36% completion. (
https://boardgamearena.com/gamereview?table=148140079)
Round 3: Heading the same way. A little over 3 hrs remaining on that player's clock and the first turn dice roll hasn't resolved yet.
My suggestion:
Instead of 4 karma loss per tournament game, a more appropriate deduction would be 4^N, where N is the number of times the player has run out of time that tournament. At zero karma, ban the user from ever joining another tournament.
