Why did I lose 24 points instead of 14 as I should have? Is there an extra penalty for abandoned games?

On a side note I would add that being kicked out of this game was the worst experience I had with a player on BGA ever since I joined.
While we were still in mid game he started telling me that I got insanely lucky. Beside the fact that it wasn't even true, I started talking with the guy telling him that he had made some mistakes and while doing that I lost track of the clock. As soon as I run out of time he immediately kicked me out!
Even though he did have the right to kick me out, I found this behavior absolutely repugnant and not something that belongs to fair play!

anyway... the question is about the ELO... why is it 24 and not 14?

Yes, there is an extra penalty of 10 Elo loss for abandoned games. It is displayed in the full game result (if you click on the game). And yes, unfortunately there are unsportsmanlike players, albeit it is the exception and not the rule.
