Time joker and tournament games

Please clarify how does it work. Here is the way as I understand.

For example we have a tournament in which we have 10 days to play a 2-player game to the end. If this time runs out whoever has the most time wins.

To make it more difficult let's take that one of the players uses a time-joker. So (s)he has 9 days, their opponent has 5 days. But after 10 days BGA software closes the game and declares the one who have the most time left the winner. After 10 days both of them owns positive amount of thinking time.

Is it intended? Do you think it fair? What kind of workaround can be made?

You will get +4 days of thinking time for all your TURN-BASED games.

Important: the time joker does NOT apply on tournament tables.
