There are many tactical games on platoon and company level with the advantage of having many scenarios.
It's also very hands-on for the player, not so abstract as operational games with features like ZOC.
Have you considered the many games published by companies that are now dead like: SPI, GDW and Avalon Hill?

Dead like or not, we need permission of publisher/author to deploy a game on BGA, nothing is free.
For now, I have good contact with GMT, so I 'work' with them.
GMT has good games in its catalog, perhaps not the best, but among them.

Lunalol you have done such amazing job on implementing USE!
For the WW2 games, I would love to recommend Triumph and Tragedy by Craig Besinque

✔️ Low counter density
✔️ Medium complex rule
✔️ Publish by GMT Games
✔️ Short Game Scenario
✔️ Two Players Rule

Red Storm (based on downtown) has a big map, many scenarios from single missions to campaigns. The theater is east Germany in 1987 where nato and Warsaw Pact go head to head.

Mig-29, F-15, cruise missiles, nukes, AAA, SAM. The game is well suited for pbem.

It’s expansion Baltic Approaches introduces fleets and air to surface missiles in a different map. (Baltic)

Downtown is a great system.

I am reading rules (3 books of 40/44/68 pages + scenarios book) of new release of GMT - PACIFIC WAR.
https://www.gmtgames.com/p-865-pacific- ... -1945.aspx

It seems very interesting, plenty of scenarios (34) but limited to two players.
If someone (Mark ?, Sal ?, Jim ?) has some contact with GMT team, or Game Designer (Mark Herman), it could be challenging (completly crazy) to implement it on BGA.

Some advice ?

Advice? Don't tackle something that big. Take a less monstrous hex and counter with a proven track record that is more conventional.

But, honestly, you know what you will enjoy developing and that should be the main goal.

Sure, it is a BIG one.
But don't worry, USE/SE4X/Talon bugs will be fixed in some weeks.
And I have to finish advanced rules for SE4X.
I will have plenty of time to dev in two weeks :ugeek:

Have you looked into Combat Commander games from GMT games? - low counter density by scenario, lots of scenarios, tactical level CDG game.
I've played a few times with my war game group before the pandemic

Really what ever you decide to go with I think I'll buy into it - You have done phenomenal work.

Want to do a really crazy on look at GMT's implementation of Vietnam 1965-1975 (formerly a Victory games title)

Any closer to a decision on what you might do next?

I have started to dev Band of Brothers from Jim Krohn (author of Talon and SE4X) but it is some early job (working with maps).
I have also in mind Pacific war because its new edition is really beautifull, same only map.
But I lack time and motivation, the bugs of other games take me a lot of time.
I also wonder about the fact of developing for free.
I am a teacher, the summer holidays are coming, so there will be change during the summer.
To be continued.
