turn order and first player advantage

EDIT: Never mind. I'm creating tables now and still going first. It would seem I just always go first? (does it have to do with my ELO being low or something?)

So, it seems like whenever I join a connect 4 table that someone else created I get to move first.
But going first is a huge advantage in this game.
Should there perhaps be a table configuration option to randomize the turn order? (or at least something like the tournament mode in Lucky Numbers?)

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious here -- I'm a bit of a BGA newb.

There is a bug since the beginning that never was touched. The alternating starting order isnt implemented (properly), which is pretty bad given that starting means auto-win.

But that doesnt really answer your questions. There I‘d just assume it‘s randomness, and probably not as extreme that you start 100% over huge amounts of games.

Looking back at my games history, I think I've gone first 11 times in a row now.
The chances of that (as you likely know) are 1 in 2048.
So it's possible that it's random but rather unlikely.

I wonder if it has to do with player preference on color? (I think my top choice is blue, and I'm premium)

There were 1.2 million C4 games played since it was released, that gives a lot of room for "unlikely occurances".
And in your games before these 11 it was pretty equal, with you starting less than half
*shrug*

Well, the streak was broken with the 12th game.
So, either you were right and it is random. Or the conspirators saw my forum post and found out I was on to them (j/k).

I think in games, played just for fun, its okay you always start the game but in important tournament like this one https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=77932  its a little bit irritating  but we discuss another board size to solve this problem: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... 46&t=19107
