Is there an easy way to see which player is associated with each character marker? The usual player name colors do not seem to be on in this game, so it's very difficult to determine which player is which.

Usual colors are disabled for a good reason: the player's color is the same as the meeple's color.
I'm supposed to add some tooltip for color-blind people someday.

I agree - when there are several players, and meeples are crowded together in carriages, it isn't easy to make out what colour the players IS, from the players listing (right side). The surrounds to several of the card displays are faint, not clearcut - and not everyone is familiar with the game, so doesn't know them by heart.
Trying to match up who's who, and who's where is not easy - especially at the start.
Pretty well produced overall though.
