How is the probability of standing upright / sideways / black or white in BGA when rolling a maple?

I have to admit this was a super strange thing for the game and was curious too. I am surprised a game would even have a mechanic like this where you roll meeples lol.

I am very curious how this game play like in real life. I feel the meeples in the digital editions seemed to be a lot higher than I expected.
