Example, I have 3 red ingredients in my inventory and I want to discard them before the hand of my turn. I cannot. It's a bug or it's a rule of the game that ingredients in inventory can be only placed in potions or changed with other ingredients?

It's in the rules that you have to fill the potions and/or your pool/flask if you can before you end your turn.
