I've never used these forums before, so I wasn't sure where to post this, but I am pretty upset..... during the "dragon egg hunt" I came across the page where you can use giftpoints for membership, and it now says "All gift points must be used within a year of receiving them." I don't remember that being a thing before (?), and have no idea when this changed, but it's awful. I've been carefully saving up my points (several 100) for when my friends take a short break from paying for Pro. It would be a complete waste for me to use any this year.... but it seems I've already lost a few hundred. If this has always been a thing, then I apologize, I just really don't remember seeing that anywhere before!

And I don't understand how I could possibly earn back enough in the future. I've played a large amount of games, so unless the gift points reset for each game every year, it's pretty awful, or unless BGA instead changes things to give out points for every 10th game won afterwards, or something.

I see the "1 year" stuff appearing after expansion of the info.
I think you cannot earn them back, unfortunately

This below, is what my Gift Points look right now.
Funny enough, I have 15 points from some initial balance I have no idea about what it means, which should have expired on 12th. March, this year (but they are still there, now being April 2nd.)

40 Gift Points:

Including 15 points to be used before 12/03/2021 ()

2020-12-03: Initial balance +15
2020-12-16: First victory +5
2020-12-29: First victory +5
2021-01-03: First victory +5
2021-01-05: First victory +5
2021-01-16: First victory +5

All gift points must be used within a year of receiving them.

Well... I should have just over 600, but currently have 400 something.... so... yeah. Pretty unhappy.

I know these are "gifts," but they really should have told us they changed their mind and put a time limit on them now. It's just really underhanded.

I think they will disappear: each set of points, 1 year exactly after being won (if not used in that 1 year).
From the thread i see the player above posted, i see this time limit appeared in 2016.
I don't know if they announced it somewhere officially, but I also had no idea.

I am not sure how you got 2016? That above thread was posted in February of this year

I confirm that there is a limit in time, like any other "promotion" in any other services, and our choice was to make it very large (12 months).

I personally checked your account and confirm that you never lost any points because of this (you can check the full history in the gift points page)

I am very confused then, because I know I had over 600 giftpoints.....

But when was this change made and why weren't we all notified by email *and* on the front page news area???
