Would the placement of a Pro-Axis marker in Ankara trigger the Med Crisis?

No. Place of pro-axis marker never triger any event. If you active as axis country a Turkey, it shouldn't triger too.

While correct, this can be misleading. Activation of Turkey as an Axis country will not trigger Med Crisis. However, placing any of the Turkish armies when the country is activated *will* trigger Med Crisis.
