Hi. Super quick question: has it ever been considered to have the option to play against yourself during training? I'm not sure how easy this would be to implement, but it could be a good way for someone to learn the basic mechanics of a game and get used to the layout if they don't have someone to practice with. It may also encourage people to try out some of the more complex games available.

Hotseat multiplayer is available to premium members, and can be used for that.
Some games also have solo variants implemented.

Is there a way to hotseat with yourself? I'm assuming it's frowned upon to create a second account just for the purpose of practicing a game.

That's exactly what hotseat is for, you don't need extra account.

Hotseat doesn't work well with a lot of games, especially with games without a rigid turn order.
Making multiple accounts does not appear to be disallowed, provided you don't play against yourself in ranked games.
