wouldn't it be a nice idea that people can see how many members are online for each game.. ?

It was the case before.
I suppose that take a lot of ressources server side, and so they removed it.

It doesn't do much.
You can see there is 20 or 200 players waiting for a game, but that doesn't mean much.
