Why does the newbie always seem to get first turn, when you're trying to teach a new game?

I seems like it never fails, we invite a new player to learn a game, and they get selected to go first. So, now we get to try to coach them verbally on how to take an action or move, without even being able to demonstrate by example. It makes teaching so much more difficult. Sometimes the new player just gets frustrated at being put on the spot and asked to do something they have no idea how to do, so they just want to quit. Now, instead of just teaching a game, you've also got to convince them to stick with it and just do something random.
Yes, I know there are lots of other resources available on BGA for teaching. But when others in the group already know how to play the game, it's so much easier just to get a game going and coach the newbie along by example. It would be GREAT, if there was some way to modify turn order in teaching games. Even better, a way to do open hands, or etc., in a learning game.
