What do the variants mean?

Post by euinor »

Does anyone have a list of what all the variants mean? The two player one and random ones are obvious, but the rest don't make sense to me.

Also, if I select the variant 'again and again' with Goddess or Titan module enabled I get an error saying 'You must enable Rebellion with 'Cards Only''. But if I select 'Cards only' with Beginner or Advanced cards selected I get the error 'You cannot use this option without a module (necessary to match Beginner cards)'.

How do I select 'cards only' once goddess or titan module is selected?

Perhaps these errors should come up when you click 'start game' instead of immediately so you can change the options at will.

"Cards only" and "Goddess/Titan Module" are incompatible by definition: if you play "Cards only" then that means "no expansion modules", so they cannot be enabled. Apart from that, setup selection could indeed be more intuitive. "Random" and "Draft" work with everything, "Beginner" and "Advanced" only with the modules or base game. The custom named variants only work without modules (so "Cards only").

As for the cards in the variants, see this thread: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... 86&t=18659

Unfortunately, the developer has stated that communicating this before the game is difficult in the BGA framework (but he didn't follow up further).
